Wayne State University is taking a fresh approach to connecting industry to university resources. The Front Door is your portal to all of the University’s resources including research talent, faculty consultants, core facilities, licensing opportunities, investment in research, entrepreneurship support and student interns.
The Front Door also plays a key role in local economic development through TechTown, Wayne State University’s research park and business incubator. Our offices are located inside TechTown where our teams work together to develop companies in emerging high-technology industries including advanced engineering, life sciences and alternative energy.
The Front Door is sponsored jointly by Wayne State’s Office of the Vice President for Research, Office of the Vice President for Economic Development and the Office of the Vice President for Development and Alumni Affairs, with additional support from the New Economy Initiative .
The Front Door is a member of the Michigan Corporate Relations Network (MCRN), a statewide university network designed to create partnerships that will connect Michigan’s corporations to critical university assets to help promote innovative research and grow Michigan’s economy. Program opportunities include the Small Company Internship Award (SCIA) and the Small Company Innovative Program, both providing matching grant opportunities for collaboration with Wayne State University resources.
